ONE DAY BASIC DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE for DSLR users (weekdays only)
This course is ideal for beginners who wish to develop their skills and use their own DSLR to produce more than the average snap shot.
We will spend the full day out on location, here you will receive a complete explanation on how to use your own DSLR to produce photos you will be proud of.
Richard is with you all day to explain the technology along side the concepts of composition. We will use plain English throughout to help you get to grips with your technique. Participants are asked to bring their camera manual on the day, as this is an important source of information to look back on later.
We will be looking at the following amongst others :
*shutter speeds
*apeture settings
*focus
*ISO and white balance
*stability
*different lenses
*composition
By the end of the one day course you will start to understand just what it takes to take a photo, rather than a snap shot on auto.
Throughout the day we will review your photographs to ensure you are progressing well
ONE DAY NATURE IN FOCUS TRAINING
Similar to the above but we will concentrate on the natural world (weekdays only)
1. Macro Photography
2. Bird photography
3. Flower photography
4. Water and autumn colours photography
it is advisable that for macro work that the candidate has either
* macro lens
* extension tubes
* close up filter (as a minimum)
For bird photography the candidate should have a telephoto lens
Both courses include an opportunity to use different equipment and also cover aspects on find wildlife, welfare of the subject and future equipment to purchase
One 2 One courses are undertaken at your own pace with plenty of time to discuss your individual requirements. We have more flexibility on locations , meeting times and week day dates to suit you
Group day training is limited to small numbers and will be offered on specific dates
Cost :
one 2 one = £150 per person
group days = £95 per person
* for anyone without transport- it may be possible to arrange a lift, the cost will depend on location of the training
A light lunch and a non -alchol drink is included in the price and unlimited e-mail support on completion.
Please ensure that you come with the appropriate water proof clothing and boots (nature photography)
Courses are normally held around Sheffield and in Derbyshire.

Richard has worked in a training environment for over 30 years before being made redundant. He is a member of the Society of nature and wildlife photography and has been interested in photography since 1972. Richard also formed the Woodhouse Wildlife group in 1987 and gives illustrated wildlfe talks to various groups in South Yorkshire. He has been a professional photographer since 2009, and most important has plenty of patience so don't worry.

Richard is also CRB enhanced checked, completed a course in Safeguarding children and Vulnerable adults and is a fully qualified first aider
